On Wednesday night, the younger brother was viewing a Celine Dion "live" concert in Las Vegas; and it brings back all the memories of her.
I've always enjoyed the songs "Nothing broken but my heart", "Where does my heart beat now", "Immortality", "Because you loved me", "It's all coming back to me now", "All by myself", "I'm your angel", "A new day has come", "That's the way it is" etc.
She also sang the 1996 Olympics song "The Power of the Dream". I was only 10-years-old then!
My all-time favourites are definitely "To love you more" and "Power of love". The melody for both songs is soulfully beautiful, and these 2 songs particularly showcase her vocal prowess.
In a 1994 interview with People magazine, she said, "I missed my family and my home, but I don't regret having lost my adolescence. I had ONE DREAM: I wanted to be a singer"(extracted from Wikipedia).
WOW! Enough said.
With dreams, comes perseverance and hard work; but most importantly, sacrifice.
She is totally awesome. In my eyes, she's a legend. Even today, she is still tops in my heart. Unparalleled. Unrivaled. Her strong vocals are incomparable. Paramount.
At times like these, it makes me compare entertainers who have real substance and those who don't; singers who frizzle out after a couple of years, and pretty-faces boybands in which the members don't sing solo parts.
Yeah yeah, I know DBSK is a batch of pretty boys too. But, one thing for sure, they have REAL substance! Don't criticise my DBSK for having good facial features; unless you can sing, dance, and acapella as well as they do.

When overjoyed, she'll be hyperactive, jump around like a bunny rabbit, and grin stupidly all day.

When stressed, she sleeps. Escapism, they call it?
