COINS

For about 2 years, I've been cultivating a rather strange saving habit. I NEVER - or, at least, try not to - use coins whenever I make any cash purchases.

I had blogged about this back in July 2008. Of course, wi
th the passage of time - and the progression from the status of a student to a "working" adult - Rule #1 has changed. Instead of just withdrawing a mere $50 per withdrawal and cover as many meals as possible; nowadays, I simply withdraw a lump sum and make an effort to NOT make any ATM withdrawals from henceforth until the arrival of the next paycheck. Of course, there are pros and cons. The good side to it is that it's easy to keep track of the amount withdrawn every month (charges made to credit card not withstanding). The bad side to it is: I'll have to remember to "top-up" my wallet from the lump sum when the fund gets low.

And, of course, the coins "saved" thus far just keeps accumulating an
d accumulating.

Nov 2009.

It's just thrilling; emptying my wallet every other day and depositing the coins - one by one - into the milk bottle. It feels like I'm nurturing a baby or something. I can't believe it takes 6 whole months just for my "baby" to grow that much. Maybe I'm underfeeding it; which in turn implies that, in the first place, I'm probably underfeeding myself! Oppps!

I am so tempted to empty the contents and count the savings. Already, not including this milk bottle, I've 12 columns of coins - totaling $193 - stashed away somewhere. I'm so itching to COUNT the milk bottle! I guess I've got to wait for at least another 4 months though - I've always been curious about how much this bottle can hold at its full capacity.

Anyway, my "baby" has grown so heavy. Just now while I was carrying it out, I need both hands to support the weight! Don't annoy me, or I'll pelt you with them and stone coin you to death.
